Ahok Puji Djarot Berpengalaman Menata Kota

Ahok Sent Djarot’s Name to Home Ministry

Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama acknowledged that he has sent the proposal of Jakarta vice governor candidate’s name to Home Ministry. That name is Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

I’ve sent the letter. According to the regulation in lieu of law (perppu), I can only propose one name

“I’ve sent the letter. According to the regulation in lieu of law (perppu), I can only propose one name,” he stated, Thursday (12/4).

Although the letter has been sent, Ahok does not know when Home Ministry would reply the letter. Thus, the inauguration of Jakarta vice governor still cannot be known for sure now.

“But, according to the rule of law, vice governor must be inaugurated at the latest 30 days after I was inaugurated as governor,” he stressed.

Moreover, Ahok explained that his decision choosing Djarot Syaiful Hidayat as vice governor is already correct because Djarot’s experiences as Blitar City Mayor for 10 years become good ammunition for them to build New Jakarta together. And after being inaugurated, he will directly work to finish the problems faced by the capital city.

“(Our) homework is piling up. Mr. Djarot already knows his tasks. He also has more experiences that I do as regional head,” uttered Ahok.
